The Museum Of Failures by Thrity Umrigar

Remy does not feel a love attachment to his home in India. When the adoption of a child goes in a different direction, he becomes stiff as starch calling the Bombay a "museum of failures." He is shaken again when he finds out how his elderly mother's life has changed. The ugly beast of guilt hits him in the back. It is hard to understand how much is expected of you. No matter how far, India, 8000 miles, the blame is put at your foot. It takes strength and love of place to remain sanely communicative. Thank you to Algonquin Pub for a complimentary copy.
