In From The Cold by Sarah Bennett

My family must own some secrets too. It seems the normal thing. If they have any skeletons rattling in the closet,  they have been more than silent. At the moment, I am looking at all of them with suspicious eyes.  "In From The Cold" is about a family in turmoil. So many relationships cluttered with a hush.

Since it is a novel, I can read it with the joy of being uninvolved. I do not know what happens to the body as we make up lies to cover truths. It is all done because we want to protect someone from pain. As we protect them, they look around and see and feel that some thing is not right about their life. The one who is keeping the secrets searches for ways to cover his dishonesty: drinking, sex, running. It is all just balls scattered on the floor. No one can walk through them. You just get a bigger headache. This proves that secrets have a life too. They scramble and move around like crabs. Until one day they bust out of confinement. Then, trouble really moves in. There is nothing else to do or say. The truth is out.

Two of the main ladies are Amelia and Hope. Amelia has enough troubles to last until Christmas disappears. Hope has a fine life if you are thinking about property and cottages. I would love to see that place where she and her mother live along with friends. As I wrote Amelia and her mother have their share of troubles. It bothers me that Amelia has found a solution but has not bothered to call her mother to see how she is doing after the news. Also, to tell her she has  found and explored a solution. It would truly  relieve her mother and make her worries go away or at least lessen. Friends, relatives, neighbors, it is all here waiting for you to unwrap the buried treasure.
