Friendships are like living plants. They need watering, and they need feeding. There is also the desire for soft, sweet conversations. Without all of the above, the plants withers away. 

Cassie and Billie are really close friends. Then,  Cassie becomes with child. All of her love and attention is given to  Baby Ella. It's just so delectably sweet how Ella loves mommy. They are sharing a new heaven borne relationship. Poor Billie is left to herself. To continue the friendship she must accept the new conditions of this girlfriend love. After all, there is Instagram. I love the new mother and baby time. Brings back sweet memories.

 Charlie is leaving Lancashire for New York. It is her first time visiting there. She is so excited. In her shoes, I would feel the same way. The trip on the plane goes well. Everything is great until she figures it out. Harry Taylor is not there to meet her.  It is such a horrible feeling to experience what is happening to her. She spends hours at the airport and find she does not have enough information with her. The story goes on. Although I have never had this experience, I almost feel her pain. It is a wonderful book. We definitely learn about Charlie.When all we want to know is where is Harry. Walking this woman back and forth as she tries to think what to tell her parents, etc. leaves the heart pumping faster and faster. You really feel like crying for her. This is not the way I pictured her New York Christmas. By the way, Lancashire is near London.
