Being a good man is on Anthony Danielson's goal list.  He can do it. It is just that becoming a respectable gentleman is harder than remaining a naughty man.  And how does one get rid of those wild and   heathen buddies? Being upstanding is never in their thoughts. 

The abolition movement is not ignored among all these theater props. Laziness has no place here. To not mention William Wilberforce would lead to angry yells. He fought venomously against slavery.

 Charlie is leaving Lancashire for New York. It is her first time visiting there. She is so excited. In her shoes, I would feel the same way. The trip on the plane goes well. Everything is great until she figures it out. Harry Taylor is not there to meet her.  It is such a horrible feeling to experience what is happening to her. She spends hours at the airport and find she does not have enough information with her. The story goes on. Although I have never had this experience, I almost feel her pain. It is a wonderful book. We definitely learn about Charlie.When all we want to know is where is Harry. Walking this woman back and forth as she tries to think what to tell her parents, etc. leaves the heart pumping faster and faster. You really feel like crying for her. This is not the way I pictured her New York Christmas. By the way, Lancashire is near London.
