Poor Deer writes stories. Writing stories is her personal secret. Oh, there is so much in Claire Oshetsky's Poor Deer to think about, cry about and talk about to a friend or club. I am a bit speechless. Thinking about what God or your Higher Power can bring to your life. Living life is not for the unbrave. I do not like the word "reckoning." It is here in this book. I am spooked.

 Charlie is leaving Lancashire for New York. It is her first time visiting there. She is so excited. In her shoes, I would feel the same way. The trip on the plane goes well. Everything is great until she figures it out. Harry Taylor is not there to meet her.  It is such a horrible feeling to experience what is happening to her. She spends hours at the airport and find she does not have enough information with her. The story goes on. Although I have never had this experience, I almost feel her pain. It is a wonderful book. We definitely learn about Charlie.When all we want to know is where is Harry. Walking this woman back and forth as she tries to think what to tell her parents, etc. leaves the heart pumping faster and faster. You really feel like crying for her. This is not the way I pictured her New York Christmas. By the way, Lancashire is near London.
