 Emigrants are rushing to America to start new lives. Although they are away,  on the boat they still suffer. Their dreams never have a chance to grow. Golda experiences a nightmare while traveling. One she will never forget. This book is hard to put down. You can feel Golda trying to figure out how to start a new life in a place where no one knows her except her brother - in - law.Your guess is good as mine. I only know she will have to move forward. 
Before our dreams come true, there are many obstacles. Some times you just want to give up. I think Golda is too loving and strong to sit down and do nothing. She has a lot of life to live.Thank you to She Writes Press for a complimentary copy.

 Charlie is leaving Lancashire for New York. It is her first time visiting there. She is so excited. In her shoes, I would feel the same way. The trip on the plane goes well. Everything is great until she figures it out. Harry Taylor is not there to meet her.  It is such a horrible feeling to experience what is happening to her. She spends hours at the airport and find she does not have enough information with her. The story goes on. Although I have never had this experience, I almost feel her pain. It is a wonderful book. We definitely learn about Charlie.When all we want to know is where is Harry. Walking this woman back and forth as she tries to think what to tell her parents, etc. leaves the heart pumping faster and faster. You really feel like crying for her. This is not the way I pictured her New York Christmas. By the way, Lancashire is near London.
