A Dellicate Marriage by Margarita Barresi

Isabela Soto is Mexican. She has a very strict father. When Isa goes out on a date she is chaperoned by the housekeeper. Like most men, Isabela's father is concerned about Politics. Should Mexico become a state or become independent? There are definite feelings about whether the United States should help or stay out of the arena. I am surprised. Feelings about religion have not been brought up yet.  Memories about hurricanes.  Simply because so many lost their lives. A severe case of Pneumonia  causes the death of Isabela's grandmother. San Felipe is blamed for the sickness. All in all I see this as a lovely romance. It is a love story. I hope not a tragic one. It is also Puerto Rico's story.
