House of Odysseus by Claire North

Cruel men have arrived at Aphrodite's temple. While she bathes, her priestess hopes to welcome friends. Instead one man pushes Xanthippe down. This does not set well with Aphrodite. She will touch his genitals until he screams. She is unafraid. Then, she will cause the earth to shake. Talk about power. There is no fear of this attack. This temple is a place of love and peace.  Weapons are unnecessary.

In today's world we still yearn for friends rather than enemies. However, when foes would breach our walls with weapons, how will I or you react? I hope not to become a coward. I hope to raise my goblet to adoration and devotion always.
