 Having a schoolmate become a movie star doesn't happen every day. When it happens, stardom in your hometown, you feel proud. In this instance, it speaks well for Paterson, New Jersey. By the way, that is Mamie on the cover of this book. She's a poodle.

The setting for "Flip Flop Gorgeous" is interesting : Paterson, New Jersey and Passaic County Also, small objects are significant. Like two coffee cups at a table and only one person is in the house. Does David Rosenfelt wish for his audience to given credence to the Paranormal. Is there a ghost wandering from Hollywood to New Jersey to New York? "Flip Flop Gorgeous" is not a dreary murder mystery. Once the body is discovered everything is okay. After all, Jenny Nichols is gardening and baking cookies. She made bail. Andy Carpenter is always there with a light hand. He will figure it all out. I am plum out of ideas.

 Charlie is leaving Lancashire for New York. It is her first time visiting there. She is so excited. In her shoes, I would feel the same way. The trip on the plane goes well. Everything is great until she figures it out. Harry Taylor is not there to meet her.  It is such a horrible feeling to experience what is happening to her. She spends hours at the airport and find she does not have enough information with her. The story goes on. Although I have never had this experience, I almost feel her pain. It is a wonderful book. We definitely learn about Charlie.When all we want to know is where is Harry. Walking this woman back and forth as she tries to think what to tell her parents, etc. leaves the heart pumping faster and faster. You really feel like crying for her. This is not the way I pictured her New York Christmas. By the way, Lancashire is near London.

 My family must own some secrets too. It seems the normal thing. If they have any skeletons rattling in the closet,  they have been more than silent.
