The Second Ending by Michelle Hoffman

In Tatiana's country, Russia, there are changes. Life does not seem more free. There are long lines for food, etc. Her husband is moving to China for a  job. She will remain at home in Russia. This  is one more change. So, to keep her world spinning Tatiana becomes more neater.Where she lives is run like  an important official's office. In other words, she is more organized. Nothing must hang in the wrong place. Color coordination is important too. Her son, Alexei, follows in his mother's footsteps. He is very aware of the importance of orderliness. Probably, some of his angst goes into his piano playing. He is a professional pianist. He began piano lessons at six years old. It is interesting to read about how we try to control our worlds. We are truly survivors.
