Lexington by Kim Wickens

Reading "Lexington" by Kim Wickens is like really attending a horse race. The excitement is addictive. It is wondered whether the horses like Lexington can feel all the drama, and do  they like their notoriety. I suppose they at least know that racing day is their day to show off like on a birthday. For myself, I like the eccentric names given the horses. For example, Fashion, Boston, Lexington  and the other quirky names.

It is also something about the horses that makes you care about their lives: have they been injured? How short or tall is the horse and how much are they they willing to give of  themselves in the races. Their bio can read like the beginnings of our children's first days out of the womb and forward. Of course, none of this is a joke. These horses like  Lexington become a part of American History.
