 When one sibling gets into trouble, the other sibling experiences the hurt too. Retribution by Robert McCaw happens in Hawaii. Ikaika's knife is found near a body. The blade has Ikaika's hand prints all over it.Of course, Ikaiki decides to help his brother prove his innocence.

Retribution is great. With a complicated mystery, there is added present day sites in Hawaii.  You can almost smell the pineapples. Reading the mystery brings to mind how hard it is to make righteous judgments. There is the fact that sometimes we can become framed in a crime by someone else. Thank goodness, our Democracy uses Blind Lady Justice.

 Charlie is leaving Lancashire for New York. It is her first time visiting there. She is so excited. In her shoes, I would feel the same way. The trip on the plane goes well. Everything is great until she figures it out. Harry Taylor is not there to meet her.  It is such a horrible feeling to experience what is happening to her. She spends hours at the airport and find she does not have enough information with her. The story goes on. Although I have never had this experience, I almost feel her pain. It is a wonderful book. We definitely learn about Charlie.When all we want to know is where is Harry. Walking this woman back and forth as she tries to think what to tell her parents, etc. leaves the heart pumping faster and faster. You really feel like crying for her. This is not the way I pictured her New York Christmas. By the way, Lancashire is near London.
