 There are no words to describe the night Martin Luther King was assassinated. When thinking of him, it is impossible not to think of his family. This book "The Kneeling Man" may give us more insight into who was there in Memphis, Tennessee that night.

In this story, we gain a picture of  one of the men there. They called him Mac. More is learned about this man's character and that night. We can never read enough information about Martin Luther King and the people who followed him.The Kneeling Man by Leta McCullough Seletzky is very good.  Charlie is leaving Lancashire for New York. It is her first time visiting there. She is so excited. In her shoes, I would feel the same way. The trip on the plane goes well. Everything is great until she figures it out. Harry Taylor is not there to meet her.  It is such a horrible feeling to experience what is happening to her. She spends hours at the airport and find she does not have enough information with her. The story goes on. Although I have never had this experience, I almost feel her pain. It is a wonderful book. We definitely learn about Charlie.When all we want to know is where is Harry. Walking this woman back and forth as she tries to think what to tell her parents, etc. leaves the heart pumping faster and faster. You really feel like crying for her. This is not the way I pictured her New York Christmas. By the way, Lancashire is near London.
