 "The Island Sisters" by Micki Berthelot Morency is about four women who want to improve their lives.They want no drama.  Each woman: Ella, Lanei, Cecilia and Monique intend to always remain a part of one another's lives. To read about their devotion to one another is inspirational. Micki Berthelot Morency writes about their most painful situations telling how they handled the stressful time.

Each of these women have stinging present and past memories. They do not allow themselves to give up because one of the four  ladies will comes to pick up all the broken pieces and to wipe their tears away. When the friends gather life becomes worth living again. These ladies are not inferior. They are superior.

 Charlie is leaving Lancashire for New York. It is her first time visiting there. She is so excited. In her shoes, I would feel the same way. The trip on the plane goes well. Everything is great until she figures it out. Harry Taylor is not there to meet her.  It is such a horrible feeling to experience what is happening to her. She spends hours at the airport and find she does not have enough information with her. The story goes on. Although I have never had this experience, I almost feel her pain. It is a wonderful book. We definitely learn about Charlie.When all we want to know is where is Harry. Walking this woman back and forth as she tries to think what to tell her parents, etc. leaves the heart pumping faster and faster. You really feel like crying for her. This is not the way I pictured her New York Christmas. By the way, Lancashire is near London.
